Yesterday was the 100th Anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which narratively gave women the right to vote. However, as truth is told, Black, Indigenous and other women of color remained disenfranchised long after its ratification. Today, we continue to witness the structural ways that Black, Brown and Indigenous peoples are denied access to political, social and economic power in this country. And so we persist in our demands for equal treatment under the law and justice for all.
As such, the Truth and Conciliation Commission is headed to Washington, D.C. as an official March Partner of the “Get Your Knee Off Our Necks” march and rally hosted by the National Action Network. Will you join us?
If you live in the DMV area or don’t mind traveling, we would love to have you join us in solidarity on Aug. 28, 2020, at our nation’s capitol. Please simply send us an email to info@truthandconciliation.org to let us know you are interested in participating and we will get you connected. If you are unable to attend but want to continue supporting the work of the TCC, please consider making a financial contribution here.
The journey to truth, justice, and conciliation is manifested in the steps we take daily. “Let us march on til victory is won.”
